Meet Michelle Ruoff

I write spicy small-town romance with a little magic.

I’m a technical writer turned romance author based in Florida. After earning my BA in English from the University of Florida and my MA in Professional Communication from Clemson University, I spent a decade in the tech industry before following my heart to romance.

I love all romance tropes, but single-parent, childhood friends-to-lovers, and why-choose stories hold a special place in my reader heart. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me deep in an omegaverse (IYKYK), binge-watching Love Island, or pulling tarot cards with an iced coffee in hand.

I live in Orlando with my husband and my dog, Sage, the true love of my life and constant writing companion.

Fun Facts About Me

  1. My dog is almost always within three feet of me at all times. She’s my little shadow.

  2. I’ve watched every season of Love Island and Love is Blind (both USA and UK versions).

  3. I pull tarot cards most full moons and sometimes before writing sessions.

  4. Sarah Dessen, Gayle Forman, and Deb Caletti are the authors who have influenced my writing the most, and my gateway authors to romance.

  6. My favorite holiday is Halloween, mostly because it’s my birthday and wedding anniversary.
